Monday Moxie: What is happening for Regarding Nannies 1st Birthday Celebration!
by Regarding Nannies Development Team
Today we are beginning our 1 year birthday celebration at Regarding Nannies. The Regarding Nannies Development team is overjoyed about how this project has been received in the Nanny Industry. We really had no idea over a year ago where we would be today. We thought that we had an excellent idea and would be able to share our knowledge as well as that of others with everyone in and outside of the nanny industry but the reception we got has exceeded our expectations.
During this week of celebration we are introducing some new layers of Regarding Nannies. We hope that you are excited as we are.
The first reveal is our new logo:
The logo is something that the 3 of us have worked on as Regarding Nannies has evolved this year. We wanted a tree with strong roots that would represent the importance of having a strong nanny foundation based on education, experience and a need to continue to grow. The roots are stretched out as they represent how deep and wide our individual foundations are as individuals. The roots represent the strength and knowledge each one of us-the development team and our readers-has. With that knowledge and Regarding Nannies we share that with everyone who is involved with Regarding Nannies.
A tree goes through many seasons and growth changes in it’s lifetime. The same goes for a professional nanny. Whether you are a one year nanny or a career nanny with more than 30 years experience. Throughout the seasons of a professional nanny you have growth and learning opportunities. Regarding Nannies is providing a voice to that growth and learning through our blog.
The Birds:
Each of the birds represents one of our team members.
Glenda is the blue bird because she is from Missouri, and this is the state bird. Missouri is the show me state and she believes that every nanny should show her commitment to this profession in everything she says and does.
Alice is the parakeet. For the past 7.5 years Alice has been the owner of a lovely parakeet named Lemongrass. Lemongrass has been with her with her past two nanny families and shown how birds can be good pets for kids of all ages.
Kellie is the blue ‘flutter’ bird, well, because blue is her favorite color and she’s not one to sit still, she’s always moving, doing some project or another.
Shop With Us:
Regarding Nannies has partnered up with many vendors to provide various products to our readers as professional nannies as well as individuals. We have affiliate links through Amazon, Vistaprint, Letters by Design and Stuck on You. By shopping through those affiliate links you are helping to support Regarding Nannies .
Sharing Regarding Nannies:
Social Media is such a wonderful outlet for professional nannies and individuals to obtain information. Here at Regarding Nannies we have Facebook and Twitter profiles so that you can share our posts with those from your nanny groups, nanny agency, your Facebook and Twitter friends & followers and friends. By sharing Regarding Nannies you are spreading the knowledge of what being a professional nanny is. Just recently we had an author comment on the Summer Reading for Kids about how excited she was that her book was mentioned. She is going to be working with us in the future on a blog post.
We have a new sharing bar at the end of each blog post to share via Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn, Diggit, RSS, Technorati, Google Buzz and others. Just click on the box for them and you can easily share that post among your networks.
We have shared Regarding Nannies within local nanny groups, (INA)International Nanny Association, National Nanny Retreat and NANC(National Association of Nanny Care). By contributing to the nanny community at large, Regarding Nannies is able to provide opportunities for education and networking on both the local and national levels.

Thank You’s:
A special thank you to Gael Ann Dow and her “creative assistant” for their monthly contributions to Creative Nanny Wednesday. Gael Anns “creative assistant” will be moving at the end of this month and another amazing family will have the privilege of having Gael Ann caring for their children. In the meantime Gael Ann will be taking a short break but don’t worry….she will be back with more of her fun and creative ideas. Until then, we wish her “creative assistant” a wonderful move and we wish Gael Ann all the best.
The Regarding Nannies Team would like to thank Evin Gaskins for designing our new logo and Ms. Crafty of BlogCrafted for moving our blog to WordPress and creating our new template. If you have blog work or design work to be done, we highly recommend both of these ladies. They have been wonderful to work with and have helped us achieve exactly what we had envisioned.
Last but not least to all of our contributing writers, followers and those who have shared our blog with others: We would not be here today without your support for making Regarding Nannies a success in their first year!
Hello, Readers!
I knew that there were so many friends and readers that would want to congratulate and encourage the amazing Regarding Nannies, so I collected a few written lines. We will be sharing a few at the end of each post during this week’s celebration. Thanks for all who contributed!
Congrats to Regarding Nannies for their 1st year Anniversary! Words cannot express my sincere appreciation for this blogs contribution to the nanny world! I love the symbolism of the roots, birds, and continual changes of a tree through seasons. Although I’ve never met Kellie, the birds seem very fitting!
I love the birds too…
although, who is the 4th bird???!!!
I have learned so much from reading Regarding Nanny this past year and loved sharing it with our Atlanta caregivers. You have created a new platform for professional development that is available to all nannies who seek to continue to educate themselves. You have performed a great service to nannies, children in their care and the industry as a whole. Hats off to you!
Thanks Judi. We appreciate it when our readers let us know how much they enjoy our posts.
