This last week of 2010, we plan to share with you what blogs the Regarding Nannies are reading. Hope that you enjoy!
A Few Blogs I Follow
By: Greta Schraer
Over the last couple of years I have grown to love blogs. My not-so-internet-saavy husband was asking me to explain why I like them and how they differ from a website. I told him that I enjoy blogs that are written by people who are passionate about something, so much that they want share it with the world. I am daily inspired by these everyday people, most who’s agenda is to simply give to the world their experience, gifts, talents, and voice.
I usually visit the blog world when I am relaxing. Sometime my husband is watching some old black and white western and I want to hang with him in the living room. Other times I need a brief break from stressful reality and stop by a favorite for crafty diy tip! I read many nanny blogs, but here are a few others that inspire me!
Sometimes I am feeling the blahs in what I wear, so I check out What I Wore Today. A local actress, Kasmira, is amazing at pairing different prints – a feat that I cannot seem to tell my mind is OK. Her love for art is shown through her creative outfits and in the background scenic locations around Cincinnati.
I often stop by HomemadeMamas for a craft or cooking idea to make with the kiddos. These busy Mamas have endless ideas and share them as a team, similar to Regarding Nannies.
By far my latest obsession is with a blog called Young House Love.
This young married couple (who recently became parents) share their DIY success and mistakes for me to “oooh” and “oh no” at! You can tell from their daily writings that they definitely love each other and their house, feelings I strongly share. And, since I stalk them I can tell you that they just moved into a new house that they cannot wait to renovate from top to bottom. (See the House Tours here!) I will definitely be along for the ride. This blog is also a resource for a slew of projects like: making no-sew curtains, transform a closet, and turn a table into a bathroom vanity! The resources are truly endless and the first day I found their blog, I spent hours looking through their first home renovation, tricks and tips and even stumbled upon the weekly picture of their baby and chihuahua (who both have their own blogs). I simply fell in love with this family, their style, their money-savers, their creativity and their honesty. They inspire me daily as I am sure they do to many across the world. So stop by their blog or Facebook page, you’ll love them!
