Being a professional nanny has given me many opportunities to learn many things. One of the things that I utilize the most with my nanny job and network is being resourceful. I often share my new found resources with those around me via Facebook, Regardingnannies blog, The Financial Nanny blog and just in conversations in general. Since launching Regarding Nannies in July 2009, I have been able to jump into the world of blogging and learn some awesome resources to share with others. Some of the blogs and people I have met along my journey are shared below:
I found a wonderful blog called Teach Preschool via Facebook quite sometime ago. Deborah Stewart has been in the early childhood field for over 20 years. She shares various posts throughout the day on the blog, Facebook and Twitter. There have been so many wonderful ideas for crafts, songs, activities and other ideas. She does a great job of sharing other childhood educators and bloggers’ blogs that apply to the early childhood field. Check her blog out today!
Earlier in 2010, I was introduced to and attended the Bloggy Boot Camp presented by THE SITS GIRLS in September. The SITS Girls have awesome blogs linked up. You can spend hours hopping from blog to blog and learning about various people. It was so amazing to be in a room with 100 other bloggers that shared a common passion for what each of us does. It reminded me of attending the various nanny conferences over the past 15 years of my career. Everyone comes together for common goals: networking, knowledge and teachable moments.
From the Bloggy Boot Camp I met the following bloggers and catch their blogs now:
Better In Bulk, Lolli is a mom to five great kids, a photographer and blogger. She has some awesome photography tips, photos and a Friday feature called Give me your best shot for photographers. Her giveaways are great. Her reviews are fun and heartfelt.
Adventures in Extreme Parenthood: Sunday is a mom to two boys who are on the severe end of the autism spectrum. She blogs about her journey in parenthood with her kids and life. She also has a great list of resources for Autism
Jill of Scary Mommy is hysterical! She provides some awesome humor to everyday life with kids, mommyhood and being a wife. She also writes a weekly column for CafeMoms “The Stir” called The Countdown with Scary Mommy. If you need a good laugh be sure to check out ScaryMommy and her column.
