Many of you have seen the news that the Timeline for Facebook is going live for everyone shortly. There will be no choice in getting it. Yes that means more changes and more things to get use to. I have to tell you that I have had it since the fall when they announced it and I like it. It does take a bit of time to get used to using it.
I love that you can go and look at your “activity”. This shows you everything you have done on your page and other pages! Only you can see this in this format! I like it because I can go search for the post or recipe that I “liked” the other day and can’t remember whose page it was on. You can also change the dates on photos and other life events on your timeline. This is great if you have a wedding photo from 3 years ago and just posted it last month. You can go and put the correct date on the picture.
You can delete old posts and other things before the Timeline goes live, but you need to act now. I am fine with what I have posted on my Facebook and didn’t feel the need to delete anything. You will have to adjust your privacy settings again as well, I have a link below on how to do that as well. Once you adopt the Timeline you have 7 days to review it before it goes live for everyone to see.
I have collected several articles from around the Internet and even on Facebook that will help guide through the new Timeline and get you set up. Remember change is hard but once you accept the change you will realize that it is all good. I suggest reading through the “How tos” before doing anything and choosing the one that is the easiest for you to understand. Have fun with it and can’t wait to see what your “cover picture” looks like.
