Cortney Gibson is a newborn care specialist and parent educator. She holds a certificate in newborn care from Alexandria School and is a certifiedgreenproofer and green birth educator.
Cortney owns and operates Gibson Newborn Services, a company dedicated to helping the parents of new babies succeed through education, newborn care and support. GNS offers families the highest level of newborn care, sleep consultations, greenproofing, and exclusive newborn care placement services, available nationwide.
Cortney has been working with families and providing in-home care since 1997. She specializes in the care of preemies and multiples, as well as early sleep teaching and parent education. Cortney has spent over 60,000 hours nurturing babies and caring for young children all over the country.
A long-time supporter of the INA, Cortney has served on the board of directors since 2007 and now serves as secretary. Cortney chairs the NCS committee, mentor program, and plans the newborn care track for the Annual Conference.
Dr. Jenn Berman
The Importance of Brain Development in Newborns
Dr. Jenn Berman, is a licensed psychotherapist and author of several books including L.A.Times Best Seller SuperBaby: 12 Ways to Give Your Child a Head Start in the First 3 Years of Life (Sterling Publishing, 2009) and The A to Z Guide To Raising Happy Confident Kids (New World Library, April 2007). She is a well-known psychotherapist, sports psychology consultant, columnist, author, speaker, radio host, psychological expert on television and entrepreneur.
A private practitioner in Beverly Hills, California, Dr. Berman is a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist who is also part of Los Angeles Parenting Specialists, a private group of dedicated professionals with a mission to provide education, support and other imperative services to families. Her syndicated “Dr. Jenn” parenting column is printed in Los Angeles Family Magazine and is read by half a million readers each month. Dr. Berman is also on the Board of Advisors for Parents Magazine. A regular on The Today Show, The Early Show, and CNN, Dr. Berman has also appeared as a psychological expert on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The doctor has appeared as a mental health authority on news, reality and talk shows both locally and nationally.
Her monthly column, “Dr. Jenn,” is printed in Los Angeles Family Magazine and five other magazines and has been running since 2001. The column won the prestigious Parenting Publications of America award in parenting and child development. She is also on the Board of Advisors for Parents Magazine.

Carolyn Stulberg founded Alexandria School in 2007 with a passion for teaching high quality in-home child care. With over 30 years of experience in child care education, Carolyn holds an associate’s degree in nursing from Purdue University and a bachelor’s of science in nursing from Skidmore College. She has worked in pediatric wards and neonatal intensive care units of hospitals, and has taught prenatal, postnatal, parenting,grandparenting and breastfeeding classes. She has developed the Alexandria School course for newborn care specialists. A mother of four, grandmother of three, Carolyn is committed to educating and training nannies with a demanding, practical curriculum that positions graduates to be the best in their profession and has presented workshops the past several years at INA Annual Conferences.
Karen Schwarzbach
Karen Schwarzbach is a Certified Sleep Consultant and professional health educator. Karen has provided sleep solutions to families throughout North America for over a decade. She earned her Sleep Consultant Certification through the International Maternity Institute in 2012. As a result of her breadth and depth of knowledge, Karen was invited to join IMI as a partner, and now facilitates their International Maternity and Child Sleep Consultant Certification course, mentoring and educating participants in 32 countries. In addition, Karen is the Managing Director for the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants.
Karen’s 16 year career as a health educator includes 10 years at the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA facilitating workshops for expectant parents of multiples. She is the founder of DoubleTalk, a workshop and support program for new mothers of twins, which she facilitated for over 300 participants over a six year span of time and Babies to Sleep, a program to help new parents find sleep solutions for their babies.
Karen has addressed audiences throughout the United States, including Sandia National Laboratories, Facebook, The National Training Institutes Zero to Three Conference, The National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, Preggo Palooza and numerous other events and conferences throughout the United States.

Dr. Harvey Karp is a pediatrician and child developmentalist and assistant professor at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.
He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed residency at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. He then performed a dual fellowship in Ambulatory Pediatrics and Child Development at UCLA. Following his training, he practiced general pediatrics for 25 years in Santa Monica, California.
Dr. Karp’s landmark work on infant calming and sleep and toddler emotional development has frequently been featured in the national press. His widely used parenting DVDs/books, The Happiest Baby on the Block, The Happiest Toddler on the Block and The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep: Birth to 5 have made him America’s most read pediatrician. He is also an authority on children’s environmental health and breastfeeding.

Sheri Lopez

Sheri is a Professional Certified Nanny, Newborn Care Specialist, Sleep Trainer, Parent and Child educator, writer and owner of ‘The Nanny Share Group’. She has been providing loving care to children and families for 32 years. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education, a degree in Business, is a Certified Nursing Assistant and in the training process of becoming a Certified Birth Doula.

Lindsay Pacsoe, RN
Lindsay Pascoe is an RN and baby nurse with over 12 years experience caring for infants and new mothers across the country. In addition to working privately with families, Lindsay has worked as a NICU nurse in a level III unit. This experience greatly enhanced her ability to meet the unique needs of families bringing home preemies and special needs infants. Lindsay also spent 2 years working with the Nurse Family Partnership, a home visiting program serving low-income mothers and infants in the community. Here she developed a true sensitivity to the needs of the first time parent and gained extensive knowledge of how to support them through pregnancy and early parenthood.
The launch of her new business, Lavender Baby Nurses, is Lindsay’s newest project. Her mission is to create a comprehensive program to focus on the holistic care of newborns, while at the same time educating and empowering new parents. Lindsay’s core belief is that the first 12 weeks of an infant’s life are incredibly formative, and that supporting families as a whole during this time has a lasting impact. Her knowledge of prenatal and perinatal psychology has played in integral role in the development of the program’s curriculum. Early parent-infant bonding is one of Lindsay’s particular areas of interest, reflected in her ongoing work with new parents.
Lindsay’s other interests include traveling, practicing yoga, ayurveda, writing, attending conferences, and nesting at home with her new husband Ben.
