While Alice and I are attending the INA Conference this week, we’re sharing with you some of our favorite reasons to be a member of the International Nanny Association, and why it continues to be the Umbrella Organization of the in-home child care industry.
INA gives back not only to the local community but to its members.
Each year INA hosts a Raffle at conference, where attendees can purchase tickets and a portion of the proceeds go toward a local charity in the conference host city. This year in Los Angeles, the Charity of Choice is Alexandria House. Monies raised from the raffle also go to fund the INA Conference Endowment Fund, which gifts FOUR conference registrations to INA members. Two businesses, and two nannies/specialty nannies / NCS.
In the past the Raffle has raised over $3000, allowing INA to give generously to local charities. The Raffle items come from generous donors, companies and attendees themselves. Popular items are the surprises our friends from Australia bring with them, Miche bags, autographed books and jewelry.
It’s also a contest to see which individual will purchase the most raffle tickets, the record currently being held by Becky Kavanagh at $250.
And the raffle isn’t complete without Alice debuting her Raffle Queen outfit for all to enjoy!
