There’s been a lot of chatter the past couple of weeks about Nannies, Care.com and background checks. The one thing that is apparent to me is that our background check system is seriously flawed. 
Fortunately, the nanny industry has a few options for nannies, parents and placement agencies to turn to. Just as we recommend hiring a Nanny Payroll Company versus an accountant, we recommend utilizing one of our industry services for Background Checks. A company who makes it their business of understanding and comprehending Background Checks.
PFC Information Services is a long-standing company, a member of APNA and the International Nanny Association utilizes their services for the background checks of their Nanny of the Year Nominees. PFC shares this information to educate individuals on BC.
NannyVerify has also been providing BC since 1998. Their FAQ answers many questions one has about BC.

Now, there are others out there that can do a background check. Hopefully this information will help you choose the right one and the right company to work with. Educate yourself, educate the families and educate your staff on the importance of a proper background check.
