It is that time again to make sure that you are getting properly paid for the mileage you drive in your nanny position. F0r 2015, the IRS has increased rates to 57.5 cents a mile! Please make sure you go over these with your employers and get properly paid for any mileage you drive. 1.5 cents doesn’t sound like much but it does add up.
Lets say you drive an average of 150 miles a week for week that was $84 dollars in 2014 but in 2015 that is $86.25. That would be an additional $117 a year. That could be about 4 or 5 oil changes, a tire or 4 tanks of gas depending on the price. So the pennies really do add up.
Beginning on Jan. 1, 2015, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car, van, pickup or panel truck will be:
-
57.5 cents per mile for business miles driven, up from 56 cents in 2014
-
23 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes, down half a cent from 2014
-
14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
