Have you heard of the Magic Coat Trick? IF not you should head over to the Car Seat Lady’s Facebook page and read about it. Nannies are those ones a lot of the time educating parents, grandparents and others about the proper use of carseats but more importantly that you should NOT have kids wearing bulky coats or anything thicker then a fleece coat while they are “strapped in”.
It’s a balmy 18 right now in NYC – and while the car might start off cold, it quickly warms up… which leads you to take off your coat while your child overheats in back.
That’s why the magic coat trick is brilliant!
Not only does it keep kids safe in a crash because the bulk of the coat is over the harness, not under the harness, but it also prevents the every day occurrence of your child overheating because when the car warms up they can simply pull the coat off.
