I love fall. The crisp fresh air, the beautiful natural colors… the return of real shoes! As I write this article, I sit in our Cincinnati home. The windows are open, the rain drizzling outside and our first fire crackling and popping in the fireplace.
This month, I will share some fun fall favorites, some of these from childhood and others brand new. I hope that you enjoy! Note you may link to the individual instructions and information by clicking on the titles. Let us know if you try them!
My Favorite Things – Fall Edition
By Greta Schraer
Foiliage Friends
I think this is such a cute and easy craft. Think about utilizing the nice fall weather to take a short hike with your kids. Gather different shapes and colored leaves. Encourage a child’s creativity to create items out of the leaves, or simply recreate some of the pictures displayed.
Carmel Apples
What says “fall” like carmel apples?I have always wanted to make these, myself and figured this is the year to try them. This link gives step by step pictures and clearly defined instructions; a great cooking lesson to enjoy with your kids.
Pumpkin Seed Necklace
For the girlie-girls, this looks like such a fun little craft that turns out to be a a cute accessory. In this example, the seeds are painted in Halloween colors.
Candy Corn Decor
Candy corn is such a cute way to decorate. Whether you just set them out in a bowl or add some candles or flowers, it is just the thing to say fall is here… and candy season is on the way. Just make sure that they are out of reach from the little hands in the house.
The Monster Mash
I love to share music with kids. I find that most all kids enjoy it and I do too. Last year I introduced the triplets (2.5 years old, then) to the Monster Mash. I had know idea that it would stick… for the whole year. The link will take you to iTunes, where you can purchase the track for $.99. I got my money’s worth.
Paper Strip Pumpkin
I had to include this little paper pumpkin. When I saw this, I was taken back to 1st grade, where I made this at school. A simple little craft with a whole bunch of memories.
I hope that you will make some memories with your kids this season. It is not always how cute the craft turns out, but the new skills that are accomplished or bonding that happens in the process.
Bonus Feature: FALL FASHION
No first let me tell you that I am no expert on fashion, like Gretta Monahan. However, I do like to shop and find deals. Working as a nanny, I am not always wearing my fun clothes, but lately I have been trying to wear at least one fun accessory each day. It helps me feel more like me, which brings more to my day. So, as a bonus, here are my favorite fall trends…all accessories!
1. My jean jacket has made it’s first appearance this week. A classic, and definitely one of my favorite things.

2. I found a watch at Meijer for $14.99 that I loved. I week later I found a similar watch at Nordstrom. I had no idea this was a new trend, but since have seen these “pops of color” throughout accessory departments.
3. Last but not least, my UGGS. They are so warm, comfortable, and a staple in my fall work wardrobe. They are pricey, but can be found cheaper at stores like TJ Maxx. So keep your eyes open and don’t waste your money on the knockoff brands, they just don’t last.
I revere form and I am wearing particular assorted country outfits please control me in what capacity may I purchase this clothing an obligation of appreciation is all together to distribute this post I am genuinely captivated by this attire and an obligation of appreciation is all together to share.
