Today I am sharing a two part tip on Holiday Shopping. Have you heard of Free Shipping Day?
In 2008, FreeShipping.org founder Luke Knowles envisioned a shopping holiday held mid-December where thousands of merchants would offer free shipping with delivery by Christmas Eve to shoppers. After just three years, his Free Shipping Day is quickly becoming a household name in the holiday shopping vernacular. With close to $1 billion in Internet sales on December 17, 2010, Free Shipping Day was the third largest online spending day in US history, beating Black Friday for Internet sales. Over 1,750 merchants, including JCPenney, Macy’s, Dell, Neiman Marcus, Disney Store, DSW and Kohl’s, participated in the third-annual event — more than double from the previous year. Knowles expects over 2,000 retailers will participate this year.
How exciting is that? Are you interested in finding out who is participating? Then you can visit Free Shipping Day, and check them all out. Start making your lists of products that you want, and the prices they are at now. You could do a little spreadsheet via Google documents and include in the item number, price, color, size etc and the prices where the item can purchased elsewhere. Here is a sample of one I just did in Google Documents.
Then on December 16, 2011 come back to the website and see what coupons and deals will be available through the merchants! All purchases are guaranteed to be deliver on or before Christmas Eve.
Make sure to check out Financial Friday for information on Black Friday.
