The holidays are around the corner, Nannypalooza is November 2-3 in Cleveland, Ohio and the INA conference is March 27-30 in Los Angeles. So how do you find the best deals on airfare? How do you pack in one bag so you can avoid the multiple checked bag fees?
Over at the Debt Blag, I found two great posts on packing and saving money on airfare! The packing one reminded me of the Traveling Nanny, Donna Robinson and her famous packing cubes she uses for her nanny travels.
Last week, I completed an eight-day trip to Hawaii to stand in a friend’s wedding, and feel like I did it fairly frugally. In this and subsequent posts, I’ll review the strategies I used, what worked and what I could have done better.
Today, I’ll discuss the flight. The cost of flying was both the biggest and least variable expense of the trip, but with some clever planning, I still managed to save a decent amount.
To read how Debt Blag got their flight for a great price and how you could use this for the upcoming holidays or conference, please read the rest at:

Once you have your great priced airfare purchased make sure you check out how to pack your bag with 8 days worth of clothes!
Here’s eight days worth of clothes in four stacks. If I packed this way, I’d toss a towel and my toiletry bag over the whole thing, toss my shoes in the pocket on the lid and go. Most people I travel with pack this way.

Pack a suitcase frugally by filing, not stacking
You can also purchase some storage cubes from Amazon that are on sale right now such as the ones below for $25.
Thanks so much for the mention. I love tinkering with finding the best way to pack and the cheapest way to travel, almost as much as I love traveling itself 🙂
