Tell us a little bit about how you got into this business? HWS was founded in 1993 in response to the failed appointments of several Clinton cabinet nominees due to non-compliance with the “nanny taxes.” We are dedicated to helping families simplify the compliance process – and offer 3 service levels to accommodate varying support requirements.
What is one of your favorite memories since you have been in business? We have been thrilled by the opportunities via conference to meet amazing nannies and dedicated nanny referral professionals and are delighted by the continuing maturation of the industry in the areas of standards and professionalism.
What is the number one mistake nannies make when interviewing? Many nannies do not perceive themselves as equal participants in the interview process, and fail to gather necessary information about the job – especially in the areas of pay, benefits and payroll taxes – that they later regret overlooking.
What advice would you give to someone considering opening a nanny placement service? Do your homework and put together a business framework that supports both families and nannies.
