While there are many nanny groups already existing, there are many nannies out there that don’t have the convenience of having a nanny group in their community. All it takes is one dedicated nanny to create the group and others will follow.
Here are some quick things you can do to establish a nanny group in your community …
1. Create a Facebook Page for your group. Here’s a recent example of a nanny who created a page and is reaching out to nannies in the Houston area.
2. Create fliers and business cards that you can have handy for when you run into another nanny. Information should have your contact info including phone and create an email exclusive to your group. I recommend gmail, but the choice is yours.
3. Host an outing at a local coffee house or children’s play place. Invite friends to help spread the word about your group.
4. Reach out to area agencies and let them know about your group. Provide them with fliers and business cards, and ask them to share your info with nannies they place.
5. Determine what kind of group you want. Do you want a social group? Educational? Combination? You can read all about establishing your nanny group and various ways to expand it on the Nanny Groups site.
Don’t forget, once you establish your group, have it listed on Nanny Groups, so others may find you!
