The Financial Nanny
This week on Monday we announced our Scholarship recipient, Nicole B. Three other wonderful nannies: Brandi, Clelie and were awarded scholarships to the INA Nanny Conference as well last week from Breedlove & Associates, The Philadelphia Nanny Network and Family Helpers. Congratulations to these four nannies and the other nannies who took the time to enter the scholarship giveaways. They discovered their “opportunity costs” and were rewarded for them.
Not everyone who is a nanny or agency will be able to go to this year’s INA Conference, I understand. If you can’t make it to this year’s, go ahead and set up the funds now for the 2012 conference. My SmartyPig account will be started next month. The conference fees are generally the same and the hotel rates within $10-$15 difference. What is stopping you? Go ahead and start saving. If you start now it will not take as much monthly to build your conference fund goals to max. If you need help with starting a SmartyPig account please let me know. I am happy to send you a referral code. (thefinancialnanny (at) gmail (dot) com)
Nannypalooza will be hosting their conference November 5 & 6, 2011 in Ellicot City, Maryland. You may want to add that to your goal savings as well.

The last Scholarship for 2011 INA Conference ends April 15:
Here is another chance at being awarded some “fun money” for the INA Conference. It is being awarded by Donna Robinson who is known as the The Traveling Nanny. It ends on April 15- the dreaded tax day! What a great way to be rewarded for filing your taxes-being awarded $100 for being a Great Nanny or Loving INA Conferences!
The Traveling Nanny celebrates the Nanny Sisterhood with two $100 INA Conference Scholarships! When my son Adam died in 2008, the sisterhood of nannies surrounded me with their compassion and love. These two scholarships are my way of letting you know how important the Sisterhood is to me!
Scholarship #1 I am a Great Nanny!
50 weeks a year you give your best to your children and families. You are confident that you are great at what you do!
Write a short 300 word essay telling me why you think “I am a Great Nanny” and submit to me by April 15th via email at thetravelingnanny@gmail.com. Just by telling me a bit about yourself, you automatically qualify to have your name put in a “hat” . This is not a “best” essay contest! I just want you to take a moment and praise yourself! By just acknowledging you are a great nanny, you could win $100 to be used towards your INA conference fee, lodging, food or entertainment–think of it as your “happy” money! Hurry as the deadline for submitting is April 15th. The winner’s name will be drawn and emailed on April 15th. Winner will be given their $100 upon arrival at the conference.
Scholarship #2 “I Love INA Conferences!”
You have attended at least 2 INA conferences in the past 10 years. You are committed to going to the 2011 conference. Email me (thetravelingnanny@gmail.com) the years you have attended and a short 300 word essay “Why you would like to attend the 2011 Conference” and your name will be put into a “hat”. This is not a best essay contest. I just want you to think about how conferences can help you. Maybe it’s just the socialization and the feeling of sisterhood that inspires you each year! Maybe there is a workshop that has caught your interest. Just by entering, you are automatically in the drawing for a $100 scholarship. Hurry as the deadline for submitting is April 15th. Winner will be notified by email on April 15th. Winner will be given their $100 upon arrival at the conference. This “happy money” can be used to ease the cost of the conference fee, lodging, entertainment–you decide!
