My nephew, Atticus, is 26 months old. He lived in Seattle till this summer. Now he lives in North Carolina, which is much easier to get to and visit from the DC metro area. We have been Skyping for the past year with Atticus, his Momma and Pop. We are fortunate to have our Grandma still with us and living in the San Francisco area. For my spring break this year, I went to visit her. I knew that Atticus was not going to be a 1.5 hour plane ride away anymore. So I came up with a great idea to share my Grandma’s love of books with Atticus. The best part is that Atticus loves his books too! We went out shopping one day. I told her I wanted her to pick out a recordable book from Hallmark for Atticus. She choose the Hallmark Recordable book, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, to read for Atticus.
Atticus visited Great Grandma Gloria in January and they had a blast playing cars, reading and discussing NASCAR and baseball. They even Skype on occasion.
I wanted to share with you today, Atticus reading his book from Great Grandma Gloria. What ways do you keep in touch with loved ones?
If you are interested in doing one for a loved one you can find them on Amazon and they are sometimes cheaper than in the store. They retail for $29.95. Here is a link to some of the titles that Amazon offers. This would be a great idea for a former charge or as a gift for when leaving a nanny family for the kids.
*Hallmark has not endorsed nor sponsored this post in anyway. All opinions are my own. The links to Amazon are through an affiliate link that Regarding Nannies has. For each purchase through the links, Regarding Nannies receives a small portion. It is used to help run the blog.
